Windemere to Hidden Valley Ridge

A loop straight from the house — out along the Windemere Ridge Trail, down into the open grassland below Hidden Valley Ridge, and back through the neighborhood. The hills were bone-dry and gold, oak trees scattered across the folds, with Mount Diablo's long ridgeline on the skyline the whole way.

The route is signed the whole way — a Windemere trail post marks the ridge trail out of the neighborhood, and the Hidden Valley Ridge Trail post further along points the way down into the grassland loop. 2 hours out with Dante.
