Northstar sits in the pines above Truckee on Lake Tahoe’s north side — the Ritz-Carlton, meadows, and a web of easy mountain trails and gondola-served ridgelines, a relaxed base for family days rather than a summit push.
Northstar began in 1949 as Fibreboard Corporation's "Timber Farm," a logging holding in Martis Valley, before the company's Trimont Land subsidiary developed it into a ski resort that opened as Northstar-at-Tahoe in 1972.
