Maui with Katia — the Road to Hana

The Road to Hana winds 64 miles along the wet windward coast of East Maui — some 600 curves and 50-odd one-lane bridges through rainforest, past waterfalls falling straight onto the road. About ten miles along, above Huelo, the Garden of Eden Arboretum climbs the hillside on walking trails through bamboo, banyan and ginger, with overlooks down to Puohokamoa Falls and out to Keopuka Rock.

Wandered here with Katia in 2010, before the kids — through the jungle gardens, where the resident ducks and peacocks come right up to you.
