Las Trampas with Teddy

Las Trampas Regional Wilderness rises straight up out of the San Ramon Valley — 5,300 acres of the East Bay hills, with the sandstone spine of Rocky Ridge on one side and Las Trampas Ridge on the other, oak woodland in the folds between and cattle grazing the open grass. The hills go a brilliant green after the winter rains and gold by May.

This is Teddy's climbing ground — the same trails, rocks and oak trees we've come back to over the years. Up onto the big sandstone slabs, out along the low oak branches, and up the ridge for the long view over the valley — sometimes with Dante along for the walk.
