Death Valley is the hottest, driest, lowest national park in the United States, and we come back to it again and again. Favorite walks: Golden Canyon up into the badlands, Mosaic Canyon's polished marble narrows near Stovepipe Wells, the color-streaked hills of Artists Palette, the salt pinnacles of Devil's Golf Course, and the old sulphur/borax workings out on the valley floor.
